Preserving heritage with timeless design
Nestled in the hills above Los Angeles, Hollywoodland is more than a neighborhood—it’s an icon. Founded in the 1920s and still marked by the famous sign that once promoted its real estate, the community carries a rich legacy that needed to be celebrated and protected.
Our role was to translate this heritage into a refreshed brand identity for the Hollywoodland Homeowners Association. The goal was twofold:
Honor the history of the neighborhood and its architectural character.
Bring clarity and elegance to the association’s communications with residents and visitors.
We developed a design system that feels rooted yet refined:
A mark that nods to classic typography and historic signage.
Color palettes inspired by the hillside landscape and early California architecture.
Practical applications across stationery, newsletters, and signage that make the association’s work feel cohesive, credible, and enduring.
The result is an identity that strengthens community pride while ensuring Hollywoodland’s story continues to be told with elegance and respect.
